Catherine Hammerton
Without a doubt, my top favourite... everything about her stand was exactly what I imagined first creating when I embarked on this project. She had a definite and distinguished style, she has a range of bespoke pieces which hold a beautifully handmade feel to them including wallpaper, home accessories and fabrics for tablecloths. The finished pieces look like they're produced by industrial process, but due to the style of illustrations or patterns on the pieces, they have a beautiful handmade finish... The ceramics look like they are all slip cast and finished with a deckle
The linens are all hand printed at the studios in London, and the napkins and table cloths are then finished off with stitched panels and borders, leaving them with a delicate and individual finish.
2 ranges of cushions; firstly digitally printed onto best quality cotton sateen, finished with a rack trim - and secondly, a more bespoke finished cushion - digitally printed onto silk viscose and embellished with antique lace and ribbon/Swarovski crystal/floral patches
Other pieces for sale include:
Quirky (vintage) Stamps printed lampshades - digitally printed and hand rolled, taped and finished by their specialist manufacturer in London.
Collection posters - samples of the Catherine Hammerton wallpaper presented as a poster ready to be personalised, framed and mounted.
Everything about this collection is individual; there is potential for pieces to be produced as custom made items, but also easily available are a small selection of pieces which demonstrate Catherine's style, design and range of skill. The company proudly states their 'British-ness and ethically sound production policies', and how their pieces are '100% designed and made in the UK', with vintage or recycled fabrics where possible.
