As experience in preparation for my interest in Art Therapy, I've started to apply for volunteering opportunities ready for me to arrive back in Leeds in September as I've had little-no luck so far at home!
As I'm specifically trying to find experience with people with learning disabilities and difficulties, People in Action seemed like an excellent place to start!
People in Action is a charity who strive in ‘creating barrier free communities with and for people with learning difficulties and disabilities.’ They offer community based activities providing members with opportunities such as social, leisure, walking, swimming, learning to cook and personal care.
I've got a meeting with them this week while I pop up to Leeds for a few days before I head back for the start of term, so fingers crossed I'll be able to make it onto the team.
