Eye Catchers

Recent things I've seen that get my head ticking...

This reminded me of the PES group that I've mentioned before on here, really interesting concept.. it really considers the audience and I think delivers the message just perfectly. There's a couple more on the Tea And Bingo YouTube channel..... http://www.youtube.com/user/TeaAndBingo#p/a/u/0/ct3bzOGUyhA

This is such a simple yet effective technique, but I really love the way they've taken things a little bit further by really experimenting with the camera angles to the way the photographs are placed in the scene and also the way other things are animated too, like the water splashing as the car runs along the top of the fish tank.. nice and easy, but the extra touches really make it.

I just think this is so clever, again so so simple, yet you can't stop watching it because you're not sure what's coming next. I love the simplistic effect of black and white held throughout the animation as well and the fact the walk is just on a repeat cycle, with effects layered over the top... worth keeping in mind when I'm playing around with rotoscoping maybe?!

This is so greaaaatttt!! I love it!! It combines so many quirky little effects and it's rolled up into a mish mash of yummy animation. Really interesting perspective of narrative, definitely want to try and experiment with this kind of effect and work out how it's achieved.

And this i came across thanks to AnimadeTV, who I'm following on Twitter....

SNASK from Mike Crozier on Vimeo.

This is so slick and just incredibly made, yet such a simple concept. The whole thing is just old school stop motion, just a load of stills played one after the other. This is what I love!! I need to get something like this ticking over in my head and some ideas going on. The little things that stick out for me in this is the lighting, it's crisp, even and just really effective - the use of camera angles, the way the camera appears to move, by this I mean how the piece is arranged so that it gives the feel of a live camera being used, when actually it's just a really effective way of animating... creating the illusion of movement... and finally the sound, it's simple, straight forward sound effects, that sound completely natural to the movement on screen, it just adds a final touch that makes you say, 'wow'.
