Take a look -------> here.
Here's a few to start off.. they're very short and there's plenty wrong with them, but they're a start! (take a look at my vimeo account for a few more)
Plasticine 3 from Jodie Curley on Vimeo.
Plasticine 1 from Jodie Curley on Vimeo.
From the several hours it took to take the photos and edit these, (yes. animation does take FOREVER. but i still love it :) ) but I've realised a few very important points....
- It makes a massive difference if the camera isn't completely steady - instead of an effective edgy finish, it makes looks a little bit too amateur - I need to make sure I use the tripod, I mean Gorillapod, (oh yes... it arrived today!!)
- On two of the little animations (see the Vimeo account), there's a camera flash every so often - so i need to make sure I control the lighting, by either taking the flash off completely or ensuring I have other lighting set up ready.
- Also, the markings on the plasticine show up really obviously, i need some more equipment for the actual models if I want to acheive a higher level of quality.
- Finally, watching these little clips back makes me realise I'm missing out the sound, which I think is really important; it provides much more of an experience to the piece, it makes the animation mean a something more than just a play around with some photographs.
I've got a lot of work to do....
