Comm Tech Progress?

Today we had a brief overview of the software help at hand from the computer guys, and the workshops they're hoping to run. I now have a clearer idea of what I want to try my hand at, and where to start - the following are the workshops I've signed up for:

Film/Digital Video (Final Cut)
This is my main focus of the brief; I tried my hand at it last year, found it annoying and fiddly, but I want to try again with a more positive and eager attitude.

Animation (After Effects)
My other main focus, as well as one other medium I gave a go at for the first time last year. As you can tell from my last few posts, I'm loving the stop-frame animation. I want to look at the first methods of animation as well, plans are to attempt to make a phenakistoscope (that is a real word), thaumatrope and/or zoetrope... Get to grips with the old school styles.

Web (Dreamweaver)
I gave it a go last year, and I think it would be really useful for me to really get to grips with properly this year. (I'm thinking ahead a little to the PPD interviews and an online Portfolio, as well as how useful it would be for future reference).

Flash Animation
Again, useful for the future web knowledge. I managed to make a ball bounce last year, I think I can stretch myself a little this year.

Photoshop for Photography
I want to keep my interest in photography going strong this year, as I put most of my focus of the first comm tech brief on getting my head around it all. I planned to consider the life of photographs once they've been taken - so this workshop was perfect box to tick on my things to do.

I also will be checking in on the ceramics/glass workshops this week, (when I can actually find someone down there); I'll be asking them about paper making to help me along with my live brief.
And I hope my interest in Typography can squeeze in this brief somewhere as well, I don't know how successful that will be, because yet again I've gone and thrown myself in the deepest of deep ends with my 'I'll do anything' attitude.

Wish me luck.
