OH MY... What A Day

(Apologies for the essay but it's worth a quick read, hopefully you'll laugh and share some trauma...)

Firstly Student Ambassador mission of a day.. just a general cold chilly i really dont want to be up kind of friday morning... stroll into college just gone half 9 and know I will be here for the next 5 hours at least starts to nag at the back of my mind... and continues to for the following 5 hours!

Once the exciting, fun filled and energetic open day had come to an end, me and Chris were heading down to White Rose shopping centre. (Due to a rather drunken sleepover night we had round one of the flats last week, i managed  to break one of the nosepads off my RATHER expensive and very treasured glasses.. gutted.)

So we were headed for Vision Express to try on some specs..

We took a nice stroll down to the bus station, waited for 15 minutes for the bus to White Rose... then waited a further 5 minutes, a further 10 minutes, and then eventually 25 minutes after the expected arrival, the 202 to Huddersfield finally turns up. We were perhaps the 4th or 5th people to embark on the bus, and the RUDEST bus driver i have ever encountered in my life, decided to refuse my £5 note for a £1.60 fare.. ok, so i have approximately 3 minutes to magic some change up?! so then Chris said she'd cover my fare... no no no £4 coins was not enough change for this guy.

"c'mon get some change, i've got 50 people waiting to get on this damn bus. You having a laugh."

OH MY!

We eventually sorted a 20p on top of the £3 coins to cover the two of our fares and enjoyed every moment of our trip to the shopping centre.

Following the awful bus bus journey, Vision Express was a complete failure. A really odd and far too enthusiastic foreign women served me, who ended up being a little too bossy. So off to find a map to attempt to find a Specsavers, via Republic and USC, where we became quickly depressed at the expensive clothes.

We then discovered the only other opticians was at Boots, where the staff were also RUDE! horrendous customer service, didn't even acknowledge us, shocking uniform, and just a generally awful impression of the store..

SO. onto Sainsburys, spent £23 on food and a wok to make a friend fajitas, then a run back to the bus stop to get back to Leeds before the city bus finished so we got a free lift back to near liberty.

"202 Dewsbury - Bus Station" is what the bus said ...

So off to Dewsbury, then Leeds Bus Station.

Or so we hoped.

As we began to find the surroundings more and more unrecognisable, and debating where the HELL we were, the guy behind us says

"Are you trying to get to Huddersfield"

"errrrm, no, Leeds"

"oh, you're on the wrong bus. You need to go the other way"

Shit.

Turns out we were going the wrong way, and were now a good 40mins outside of Leeds, we had to wait 20 mins for the next bus that was heading back to Leeds, so wouldn't be back in Leeds til quiiiite late.

Whilst waiting for our bus in Dewsbury bus station, we had the lovely company of 'the smelly cat lady'. who basically was dodgy as. and very unpleasant to sit next to.

Eventually we got on the 202 to LEEDS. and entertained ourselves with Michael Jackson tunes, highlight of which was Chris's mitten dance to Rockin' Robin. You legend.
