Animating isn't getting started today..... :(

Today is turning out to be a testing out day... been at this for over 2 hours trying to get lighting sorted, playing around with camera shots etc etc.... but the whole thing is a complete disaster.. well that's what it feels like at the moment.

- Software doesn't support digital camera - you need live feed ie. a video recorder. can't rent one out from the AV room as it's closed today. I would use my little nikon digital camera which has video recording on it - but it's not compatible with my mac.... so. i'm down to taking photos and then uploading them to the software to wait and see how it runs
- I've discovered I know absolutely nothing about lighting ... took a few google searches to realise the little yellow twisty bit is actually a control which adusts the reflector in the light. Made a big difference!
- As i haven't got live feed though, each time i check back the last few test shots, it ends up showing up nasty shaddows on my screen I can't pick up by eye just looking at the screen.
- I think I need a better lens on my camera which allows me to zoom in further, cause i get so far zoomed into a shot I have to physically move the tripod in - which isn't smooth, it's getting difficult to try not to trip up over all the cables around, and then once i've taken the photos, i realise i'm now making shaddows on the area being photographed cause i'm in the way of the lighting .... arghghghgh!
This is so difficult! And I'm not sure what to do now?! Help :(

ps. Oh, and I'm writing this now cause the camera battery is recharging. Which just proves the point on my last post..... pfffff.
