I gave in to the world of Twitter and I'm just about getting the hang of it now! It's actually really great for networking and discovering new things going on, I'll be sure to post quite a few bits and pieces up here of animations that catch my eye.. following a few people/groups that are animation collectives or production companies, always suggesting great animations to watch... brilliant for a bit of inspiration on a rainy day!
Which is what's happened today, did some student ambassador work this morning and back home for the night, it's grey and wet and horrid looking outside, so my night in will consists of animation browsing on the internet, finally getting round to watching Lost and Found and My Neighbour Totoro as well, (which I got for Christmas and still haven't opened!)
I'm focusing my critical studies essay around TW. Adorno and an analysis of Disney in response to Adorno's views on the mass media and popular culture... so I might just sit and watch a few Disney films while I'm at it too!
This animation came up on my twitter feed, I'm following Animade, an animation blog; they post anything and everything up there, most of it is absolutely brilliant - for sheer diversity to amazing talent. This particular animation caught my eye for it's simplistic nature, it's so so basic - yet the content and storylines with it's quirky (and pretty crude) humour just make it completely acceptable. It just works so well.
I really like this idea, something to play around with as it's hopefully not too time consuming compared to some more adventurous things I'd like to try out ...
Here's a couple more that I've watched and enjoyed :)
