Green Screens

I took a visit to the AV Suite today to ask Matt about some basics on green screens - I've not used them before and I just wanted some basic info around how to do it and what it can do - predominantly with relation to animation & used in AfterEffects.

It was really useful, I was only there for 20minutes or so, but I got a really good idea of what I can achieve. Matt also gave a few bits of advice about lighting and positioning around the green screens, that the green screens can in fact be any colour, so long as it's not featured in what you're filming/shooting and also a few tips on using AfterEffects.
I mentioned my CreativeCow tutorial, and he recommended http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/all/ as another really good website for trying things out.
I plan to experiment with some stop frame on green screens building up over the reading week as it's a straight forward way of animating, so I have more opportunity to play with the software afterwards.
When I return back to Leeds after my week at home, I want to have a list ready for what I can get doing in the AV Suite and really get stuck in with the equipment available for me to use.
