Rust Dyeing

With recent car issues, I wasn't able to go to a scrap place today, (although Gareth suggested Swiss Cottage Antiques just outside Leeds city centre as a great place for cheap metal scraps). So, in preparation for my rust dyeing this evening I've been on the hunt for bits of rusty metal around the streets. Manage to scrounge a few things, got my iron filings, thanks to Paul, and set with my vinegar and fabric samples...
To help me along my way, I found a really good website with a few hints and tips:
http://www.prairiefibers.com/Rust%20Dyeing.htm, as well as a blog with loads more info on natural dyeing, aptly called 'The Natural Dye Notebook'. Photos of the results coming up tomorrow :)
