I was talking to a couple of other yr 2 students, and they said oh I'm doing that, but just using one of the free portfolio sites - which I wasn't aware of.. I thought probably would exist but I don't want to pay... and oh what a bonus, they're free!
So for now at least, I'm going to set something up on deviant art and build a basic online portfolio to hold all my completed work together. There isn't much point in spending a couple of days getting my head around dreamweaver, when the final thing is ready and available for me to use straight away.
So I'll get cracking and upload some images (and hopefully animations to it) then post up here the address once the portfolio is up and running :)
I'm updating this a week after posting this link.... I've managed to create a basic online portfolio on deviant art, and the basics look really great. However, when I went to upload some videos of animations, I found that they don't actually have the video uploads with any free packages - unfortunately, I don't have enough work to show, for me to pay to put a website up just yet...
Paul suggested Behance Network as a place to apply for an online portfolio which supports video uploads, so that is now in working progress and I'll update again if I hear back from them.
