Let's Go For A Walk

Had to dig out my youtube login to try and get these uploaded as vimeo's not my friend at the moment... eventually it worked!!

I've updated my previous post so you can see the failed attempt of a man walking/falling over..
This was my second attempt after doing some research as to how the body moves when we walk... There's obvious issues with the lighting and the choice of materials - (the paper was far too flimsy and was too easily moved out of place). These in turn have affected the flow of the walk and it doesn't look very good, but you can start to see a formation appearing.... (I hope!!)

This is my 3rd (and final) attempt at a walk cycle...

After Effects Experiments from Jodie Curley on Vimeo.

I'm fairly pleased with the way this has finally turned out, I've learned a lot more than just to walk cycle; by working out the clouds as a little background extra, I realise I now know I could add in some buildings, some more people (walking in other directions), and eventually build up a whole street by layering up the piece a little more.
I would also like to try, (probably outside of this project now), the walk cycle the other way around, so making the model walk across the screen and then the back ground staying still.
There's still plenty of things that didn't flow quite so well; there's the big fat book the model is standing on - I needed some more green card to cover this out really. The model moves backwards where I've moved the base of it, so there's a quite a few jumps in the sequence, but I have the fundamental understanding of how it all works... so I'm pretty happy now :)
